Kentico EMEA Partner Day Recap

The first event of the year was immediately one to look forward to. Blastic was invited to Kentico's Partner Day in Prague, where Kentico's strategy and product vision for the upcoming years was shared.

The day began with a warm welcome from Kentico CEO Dominik Pintér, who immediately addressed some elephants in the room by starting his presentation with the buzzwords "Headless" and "Composable," which are not traditionally associated with the Kentico Xperience Platform.

Headless and Composable are good techniques for the right use cases and the right companies, but are they applicable to the majority of the market today? What is the return on investment in the short and long term? In times when the digital maturity of our clients needs to increase and implementation costs are rising, are these the topics that companies need to focus on or need to look into?

There are some obvious use cases that require, for example, a headless approach, such as delivering content through different channels at different endpoints like POS, displays, mobile apps, etc.. But this is not the majority of the market.

Notwithstanding, Kentico’s CEO confirmed that Kentico Xperience has been a headless and composable platform since 2011, when the extendable API's became available. The techniques are supported, however they are not forced onto clients. Kentico believes that these features and possibilities should be offered by any CMS these days. Therefore, let’s start calling Kentico Xperience a Hybrid Headless platform from now on.

The topic of Web3 and the Metaverse was also discussed. How will Web3 impact the way we look at SaaS solutions today? In which use cases will the ability to host the platform yourself be required? How will Google Analytics be positioned and what can be the role of the platform's analytics?

Dominik Pintér acknowledged that it is impossible to come to conclusions in one day, but these trends need to be considered in the near future as they develop further. Beyond the buzzwords, he believes that a Digital Experience Platform will be the aggregator to deliver a total experience to the end client.

Kentico strategic and product vision towards FY26

Looking four years ahead is like a lifetime in the current digital era, but it shows the clear vision and strategy that Kentico currently has. The focus is on two products that are currently being supported:

Kentico Xperience 13

This is the all-in-one digital experience platform that was launched at the end of 2020 and has been upgraded with minor enhancements over the past years. This mature platform is one of the most complete and user-friendly DXPs in the market today.

Further improvements, hotfixes, and technical support will be provided for this platform until 2026.

Xperience by Kentico

Xperience by Kentico is the new flagship of the company. Developed with the latest technologies and with the possibility of subscribing to the SaaS offering or hosting it yourself, it's a unique platform. As of now, the platform is still in full development, but the feature roadmap is clear.

Possible migration scenarios from KX13 to Xperience by Kentico have been documented and a migration tool is already available as we speak. The only question left, as an existing KX13 client today, is whether all the required features are already covered by the Xperience by Kentico product or not.

We were already impressed by the demo that was provided. 😉
